Mount Vernon – May 10-11 – Mount Vernon’s Spring Garden Party.  In honor of Mother’s Day, Mrs. Washington presents a special program.  “The Mother of Her Country Speaks to Motherhood” at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 Pm.  Mrs. Washington will talk with guests about her times in the 18th century on being a mother to her children.  Seed packets will be handed out to each mother along with a picture taken with Mrs. Washington.  Admission Fee is $13/$6 child.   Come out on mother’s day and have a Spring Garden Party with Mrs. Washington.

Mother’s Day Tea in the Enchanted Garden:  Enjoy tea and cakes while sitting in the newly restored Garden and enjoy the Museum of Edgar Allen Poe’s enchanted Garden.  The garden is newly restored and the museum has new exhibits.  It is a short guided tour of the museum and dramatic poetry will complete an afternoon that Mom will never forget for years to come.  Reservations are required.
