VisionWalk - A Cure is in Sight - For My Sister-N-Law Pam McConky
Pam will walk for her son Eric and her husband David!!!
The Foundation Fighting Blindness is to obtain research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher Syndrome and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases. There are more than 10 million people of every age that suffer from vision loss from these blinding disease, in the United States. This foundation has funded thousands of research studies. RP and Usher Syndrome are inherited diseases commonly diagnosed during childhood or young adulthood. RP causes sever vision loss leading to legal and/or complete blindness. Children with Usher syndrome are born with varying degrees of deafness and later develop RP. The Foundation was founded in 1971.
This weekend you have a chance to give to the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Their is a Vision Walk being held at the Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus. The walk starts at 10:00 am. The Northern Virginia/ DC Metro VisionWalk brings together sponsors and walkers from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Montgomery County, MD. It will be a family day filled with family activities. There will be a moonbounce and a visit from Dora the Explorer. If you can not come to support the walkers make a donation.
This walk is dear to my hear because my sister-n-law Pam McConky has RP. She is doing this walk in support of all of those who have suffered or are suffering from a retinal degenerative disease. Make a gift - for Pam Richmond to help support her and others like her at the VisionWalk.
