Today, February 23, 2012, at 12:00 pm EST, registration for the 37th Annual Marine Corps Marathon will open to all active duty and reserve members of the military. Early registrants will also receive a 15% discount on their registration fee.  Service members can register online for the next two weeks before registration opens to the public on March 7, 2012.

Service members will only pay $78.20 as compared to the full registration amount of $92.00.

This year’s event is scheduled for October 28, 2012 and as always, the course will take a scenic tour of the many beautiful monuments in our nation’s capital.

The date for opening registration to our active duty and reserve service members was planned for February 23, in order to commemorate the Raising the Flag at Iwo Jima, which took place on February 23, 1945.

Be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to secure your registration at a discounted price before they open it up to the public. This event sells out in mere hours every year.
