Don’t forget about all of the great things going on at the MCX this week in celebration of Month of the Military Child!
On April 7th between 0900 and 1800 you will be able to get dog tags for children 18 under. The cost of these tags will be $1.00 at the Potomac Engraving & Awards Shop. The Awards shop is located on the main floor next to the uniform shop.
Also, at 1100 you will be able to participate in and Easter Egg Roll contest. This event is open to kids ages 3-5. After that at 1300 you can travel over to the Electronics Department and and play “Name That Tune!” Registration for a Wii Dance Revolution can also be done at the electronics department. You must be between the ages of 12-18 to participate. For more information and entry rules call 703-432-8800.
Another event you may want to register for is the Diaper Derby. Registration is open from April 7th until April 14th. To register go to the customer service department. The Derby will take place on 14 April across from the Children’s Department. For more information call 703-432-8800.
You will also want to stop by the book signing event taking place in front of the MCX. Author Glenna Orr will be signing her book “Open Minds-Open Hearts”. This book was written with the intent to get young people to volunteer and to remind all of us what seniors can contribute to our lives. As Orr says, seniors can be our “wisest teachers”.
After all of this if you still have some energy left, check out the sale on Mattel toys in the toy department!
