Petalfest: The closing of The Cherry Blossom Festival!

by Laura on April 27, 2012

On Friday April 27th the last event of the National Cherry Blossom Festival will take place. The Petalfest being held at Woodrow Wilson Plaza will be full of music, food and fun!! The Festival sponsored by Sucampo Pharamaceuticals will be held from 5:30-8:30pm.

Kicking off the Petalfest will be Chelsey Green (The Green Violinist) and the Green Project. Fans have said that Chelsey gives the violin an electrifying new voice and a different take on acoustic music that will get you off your seats!

If your not rocking after Chelsey and the Green Project, then you will definitely get up and boogie with The Family Stone! They will get you up dancing with some of their hits such as “Dance to the Music” and “Ordinary People”!

Also there to finish out the festival will be the winning entries of the second annual National Cherry Blossom Photo Contest. The contest is produced by FotoDC and the Festival and will use the winning entries to decorate the Petalfest venue.

Food will be provided by Aria Pizzeria and Bar. The admission to this event is free! Woodrow Wilson Plaza is located at Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th Street, NW, if you are taking the METRO you will use the Federal Triangle station.

This sounds like a fun and entertaining way to finish out the National Cherry Blossom Festival!
