May 11 is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. This day was established in 1984 by Former President Ronald Reagan. The day is always celebrated the Friday before Mother’s Day. This celebration is a part of Military Appreciation Month, which is the month of May! It is estimated that over half of active-duty service members are married and up to 43% have children, which makes this an important day for the country to thank these heroes!
To celebrate Spouse Appreciation Day the MCB Quantico MCX is having a some events designed with spouses in mind! On Friday May 11th from 10:00am-1200pm you can visit with the cosmetic experts of such companies as Estee Lauder, Smashbox, Shiseido and Clinique. These experts will help you with all of your cosmetic questions. Also at the MCX between 10:00am and 12:00pm you can meet with an Athletic trainer. These “work out” experts can give you the information you need to start a program or ramp up the one you are already using! So stop by and “Ask A Trainer” ! And before you leave the MCX with all your new information do not forget to pick up your special gift just or you from the Quantico MCX! Check out some of the other specials going on at the MCX including the “Mama Mia Fragrance” event!
Another great event at MCB Quantico is going on at Little Hall Theater! On May 11th at the 6:30pm and 9:00pm showings spouses receive a free medium popcorn and a regular soda.
Now if your are a Military Spouse in the Ft Belvoir area you can attend an event at the Fort Belvoir Community Center. The goal of this event is to give Military Spouses the red carpet treatment they deserve! You will be able to relax and enjoy some great music while munching on snacks and sipping beverages!!! Make sure you enter the door prize drawings with a chance to win prizes from local boutiques!! To attend this event you get a FREE ticket form the Community Center now through May 4th. Another great way we can all show our appreciation to Military Spouses is to go Bluestar Families and request a certificate of appreciation for a military spouse!
