If you didn’t get enough fireworks on the 4th or you didn’t get a chance to see any, then you can come out to Lorton for a fireworks show tonight!
The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton will put on their Patriotic Fireworks Show starting at 9pm. This is a free event.
If you want to come out early, then you can check the Center and see the other events that take place today. From noon to 4pm, there is the 4th Annual Ice Cream Social. The Fairfax County Fire Department Station #441 will be there with their fire trucks and there will be pony rides for the kids. State of Mind will be providing the live music. This event is a fundraiser for the Ceramics Program. The cost is $15.
From 4pm to 9pm, Art Out Loud 2012 takes place in the Quad. This free event has artists and musicians showcasing their talents. From live painting demonstrations to live music, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. You can also help out the community by donating canned foods for Food for Others. Food for Others is the largest distributor of free food for those in need in northern Virginia.
Also from 7pm to 9pm is the weekly Mount Vernon Nights at the Workhouse. This free concert also takes place in the Quad. Tonight the a cappella group Johnny Cartoon will perform.
