There has been a murder!!!  The National Museum of the Marine Corps is hosting a Murdery Mystery Social with the theme “The Mafia Murders.”  Come dressed up in 1920s attire.  Guests interact with characters and play the roles of detectives.  Take a Museum tours  from 4-5pm, and enjoy a cocktail hour from 5-6pm, and The Mafia Murders from 6-8pm.  Food and soda are included with ticket purchasewith a cash bar available.  Tickets must be purchased in advance.  Contact Sara O’Bryan to RSVP at 703-649-2365, or volunteer@marineheritage.org for details.

CAPS fans and soon to be CAPS fans! Rock your Red tonight as the Washington Capitals host Montreal for their first game of the NHL playoffs.  The Caps are looking good as the Eastern Conference Regular Season Champions and heavy favorites going into the playoffs!  The puck drops at 7:00 tonight at the Verizon Center . 

This season, the Capitals didn’t just rise to the top of the NHL pack, they made a mockery of the standings, besting their nearest competitor in the Southeast Division (Atlanta) by 38 points, finishing 18 points ahead of their nearest competitor in the Eastern Conference (New Jersey) and besting the San Jose Sharks by eight points to secure their first Presidents’ Trophy.  Alex Ovechkin, who was named team captain midway through the season, is in line for his third straight Hart Trophy as league MVP, even though he and his 109 points finished out of the running for the Art Ross and Rocket Richard Trophies on the final weekend of the regular season. Nicklas Backstrom has emerged as a top-five player in the NHL, finishing fourth in the league with 101 points.
